IU-PKU: So different., so much alike

1.  Peking University is very much like Indiana University.  It is one of the top universities in the country, but it does not offer PhD degrees in engineering. They offer degrees in humanities, languages, pure sciences and mathematics. Bicycles are all over campus too! Some have come to call Peking U as Parkng U due to the large numbers of bikes parked near every academic building.

2. IU is known for its Hoosier hospitality. PKU:  wow, they do know how to feed their students.  The largest cafeteria on campus has several floors, various dining styles and MANY cuisines to select from.  One floor has more than 25 stations with foods from across the country prepared all sorts of ways:  steamed, stir fried, noodles, and Korean hot stones.  All for 5 or 7 yuan! (about a dollar).
