How quickly I've become accustomed to university student prices. A big lunch can consist of a large bowl of noodles; rice with a main dish and two small vegetable dishes and a drink barely comes to $2!
Last night, I had a special treat. I was able to meet up with two of my role model cousins: Lupie and Rita for dinner. Both happened to be in Beijing at the exact same time as me! We decided to dine in, at their hotel where a hamburger, a sandwich and fries rang up at $50! Makes me think of the credit card company commercial. $2 noodles, $50 burger and fries. An evening con las primas in Beijing - Priceless!
Talk about never in a million years! I never imagined myself to be on this side of the world. Never would have thought that I would bump into TWO of my cousins! And yet, it happened. All just steps from the Beijing railroad station square filled with people waiting on their orient express.
