Cinco de Mayo with Mao Zhetung

Normally, one celebrates the day when Mexico defeated France in the battle of Puebla on cinco de Mayo by eating Mexican food, drinking ice cold horchata, margaritas or Dos XX. How did I celebrate it in 2014?

My celebration was fully immersed in the Chinese fashion:  by drinking two cups of the most wonderful green tea I've ever had - crunching on the stiff green tea leaves that reminded me of pine needles but tasted totally different; being treated to an amazing lunch by the dean of the Peking University Graduate School and the staff exchange program participants; attending a launching ceremony of the Yenching Academy and its new master's degree in Chinese studies; and wrapping up my day by strolling down Chengfu Road next to the Global Village.
